Although summarizing the most up-to-date research results by covering a broad range of topics, it nevertheless provides details and can serve as a starting point to any person keen in finding out more, this due to its comprehensive literature reference list.
Map	"Kakamega Forest Tourist Map 1:20.000"
This map is meant to give orientation to those keen in exploring Kakamega Forest. It not only depicts all walking trails in the northern and southern part of the forest but points to interesting locations and provides valuable hints for travellers. The detailed satellite image in the background facilitates the understanding of the ecosystem. A range of photographs visualize the forest's beauty.

Tourist Guide	"A Short Guide to Kakamega Forest"
This short guide will help you to get an overview regarding the tourist facilities and the flora and fauna of Kakamega Forest. A wide bunch of hiking trails are described and many pictures shown of its great diversity in plants and animals.
Field Guide	"Illustrated Field Guide to the Common Woody Plants of Kakamega Forest"
This field guide helps to identify the most common woody plants of Kakamega Forest. In addition to a summary on the environmental conditions, it contains descriptions of 288 species making use of about 1000 photographs.

In addition to these products on sale, the BIC is equipped with a wide range of other data and information materials. Besides the continuous building-up of a library, the BIC is hosting a GIS unit with access to more than 500 geodatasets as well as interactive visualization tools useful also in environmental education (for an overview see link).

Atlas	"The BIOTA East Africa Atlas - Rainforest Change over Time"
The atlas combines all spatial research outcomes of the BIOTA East Africa project covering the three forests investigated: Kakamega-Nandi forests in Kenya as well as Mabira Forest and Budongo Forest in Uganda. Within its three sections on Education, Decision Making, and Research three main user groups are addressed by the one atlas with each section tailored to meet their specific needs and abilities (see link for a leaflet).
