to schools close to the Kakamega-Nandi forests

The BIOTA East Africa Atlas. Rainforest Change over Time has been designed the way that in particular its first section Education is dedicated to improve map reading literacy while learning about three rainforest areas in Kenya and Uganda. From the display of easy-to-comprehend information on the Kakamega-Nandi forest area in particular schools adjacent to the named forests will benefit. Therefore, 5 copies of which 2 in double size are donated to these schools. The BIC is responsible for making the atlas copies available to the schools. Through the handing over by the BIC team, the personnel at the schools can get first hands-on regarding the material provided. At the same time BIC is taking the chance of also making the BIC better known in the area. Schools on excursions with pupils to Kakamega Forest could use the opportunity to also visit the BIC which has more to offer on this unique ecosystem. Specifically, the interactive tools at BIC will be fun to any student.
